Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil View Dry Sack
This is a product that most preppers wouldn’t think of packing away in their bug out bags. While dry sacks are used a lot by adventurers on water or through canyons, they can be of great value to preppers especially if bugging out is in your plans. Keeping your clothes and electronic equipment dry is a huge deal if you’re on the go. Not all backpacks come weatherproofed so it’s important that you have a solution in place to handle the chance you get caught in a down pour or have to cross a body of water. The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil View Dry Sack comes in everything from 1 liter to 35 liters in size and is a perfect, durable solution.
The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Sack is made of ultra-sil nylon which is a polyurethane coated siliconized Cordura fabric that promises ultimate waterproofing. When I first got the dry sack I was thinking, there’s no way this will hold up on the go – however upon further inspection the Cordura fabric is tough as nails and couldn’t rip it with my hands if I wanted.
The folding and locking design is really awesome in keeping everything water tight. Once you stuff the dry sack with your belongings, you fold the top over three times, then secure and seal it by snapping the buckle. The Ultra-Sil Dry Sack has a flexible and slippery finish that makes it easy to pack away in a larger bag. The other awesome feature is the viewing window for which it is named, so you can see the contents inside without unpacking it all.
I’m a really big fan of Sea to Summit products needless to say. I have the Ultra-Sil Dry Pack in my bug out bag as I’m typing this. It’s an addition most don’t think about but can really turn out to be an asset in keeping your gear dry.
